Moving to San Miguel de Allende is rarely just about real estate. It's about imagining a different rhythm of life: a slower morning, a deeper sense of community, a place that feels aligned with who you are, not just beautiful to look at.
That gap between curiosity and clarity is exactly what The Welcome Table was created to bridge.
What It Is
Every Saturday morning from 10 AM to noon, we gather at The Agency San Miguel de Allende office at Aldana 31. Coffee, something sweet, and an open conversation about what it actually means to live here. No presentations. No pitch decks. No pressure.
The Welcome Table is intentionally informal, a place where the questions you've been carrying around in your head finally have somewhere to land. Which neighborhoods fit how you want to live? How does buying property in Mexico actually work? What should you understand before renting, investing, or building? How do you make this move feeling grounded rather than rushed?
We've kept it consistent for a reason. Same place, same time, every Saturday. San Miguel can feel overwhelming when you're new to it. There's so much information, so many opinions, so many people willing to tell you what to do. We wanted to create something reliable. A door that's always open.

The Team Behind It
What makes The Welcome Table different isn't the format. It's the people running it. All three of us have personally navigated the experience of building a life here. We're not reading from a brochure.
I handle residential sales and lifestyle-driven properties, helping buyers find homes that actually fit how they want to live, not just what looks good on paper. Cynthia Alcocer focuses on rentals and transitional living, which is often the first step for people who aren't quite ready to buy. And Lisa May Cobham brings something irreplaceable to the table: her work as an international relocation specialist means she understands not just the logistics of moving, but the emotional reality of it.
Together, we can walk someone through the full picture, from “I'm just curious” to “I'm ready to make an offer,” without anyone feeling pushed along faster than they're ready to go.
“The Welcome Table exists to slow things down. To create a place where questions are welcomed, where curiosity is encouraged, and where people can begin building community before they even choose a home.”
Who It's For
Everyone who comes is somewhere different in the process. Some people are visiting San Miguel for the first time and just want to understand the landscape. Others have been dreaming about this for years and are finally ready to take the next step. We get second-home buyers, retirees, remote workers, investors, and plenty of people who don't fit neatly into any of those categories.
The only thing everyone has in common is that they're asking real questions. And that's exactly what The Welcome Table is built for.
If you're planning a trip to San Miguel, or you're already here and haven't yet found your footing, come pull up a chair. Saturdays, 10 AM to noon, Aldana 31.
We'll save you a seat.
